Saugeen Shores Police are reminding everyone that a Stay-At-Home Order is in effect until May 6, 2021. While police will continue to make efforts to inform people of the rules they are also advising people that due to the recent increase in positive cases, fines will be issued when applicable and said fines had been issued following an investigation at a Southampton convenience store.

Essential travel is described as getting food and medication, supporting vulnerable community members, exercise with pets or people you live with, healthcare services, childcare services, and work that cannot be done remotely.

In addition to the Order, on April 14 Grey Bruce Health Unit and Dr Ian Arra recommended everyone "consider themselves a carrier for the next 48 hours" and stay at home, giving health officials a chance to contact new cases and their contacts. Over 70 new cases had been confirmed in the region in the previous 36 hours and a "critical threshold" had been declared.

Police are asking anyone with questions about what is permitted under the Order to contact Public Health or visit covid-19.ontario.ca "prior to engaging in activities that could leave you with a hefty fine and put others at risk."

The fine for failing to comply is $750 for an individual and $1000 for a corporation.
