The Rotary Club of Port Elgin presented the Huron Shores Hospice with a cheque for $2912 as part of their $10,000 annual commitment over five years. The money came from COVID-friendly pumpkin pie sales at Pumpkinfest and the pies were made by Just Like Mom’s in Southampton. Included in the sales was an order from Bruce Power for 150 pies, which were distributed to frontline workers in Grey & Bruce counties.

"A big giant thank you to everyone who purchased a pie at Pumpkinfest 2020 and to Bruce Power for their extremely generous donation," read an April 2 media release from the Port Elgin Rotary Club. "We are so happy to be able to contribute to the Hospice with the support of our amazing community."

The club also recognized Vonnie Jasso, owner of Just Like Mom’s.
