The Marine Heritage Society is pleased to announce the launch of a new webcam that promises "spectacular vistas and stunning views of the Saugeen River and the Southampton Harbour," read a December 29 media release.
"The high resolution and vivid colour of the new service is exceptional," said Marine Heritage Chair Eric Tolton.
"The webcam will provide our captains with vivid real time lake and weather conditions, but it's so much more," Tolton continued. "The lake is changing all the time. The camera will show off the beauty of Saugeen Shores’ natural environment."
Potential visitors, residents, photographers and boaters can now enjoy sunsets, harbour activity, the power of Lake Huron storms, the sun glistening off the ice and snow, spring ice flows and boating and fishing conditions, read the release.
The service can be viewed at chantryisland.com/harbour-live-stream.
To offset costs, Marine Heritage is looking for a select group to sponsor their feed or to host the stream directly on their website. Interested organizations can email john.willetts@eastlink.ca or call 226-435-2155.
