Port Elgin Montessori Preschool students showed off some of the pieces they donated to Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey.
"The importance of community has been an essential component of the Montessori education," read a December 14 release from Port Elgin Montessori.
"Today I am writing to you as we are proud teachers of Port Elgin Montessori Preschool who have encouraged and engaged our students with the social responsibility of giving and kindness. One way we have shown children this can be done is by donating to a local charity," the release said.
Students at Port Elgin Montessori Preschool have donated hats and mittens to families in need at Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey. "Our students are very proud to be able to be a part of this and some families have reached out to inform us that this act of kindness had really made an impact at home," the release continued, adding that the act has encouraged the students part-take in a charity within their own household.
