The Town of Saugeen Shores Attainable Housing Task Force is inviting residents to a roundtable to discuss affordable and attainable housing in Saugeen Shores.

In a December 1 media release, the Task Force is drawing close to making key recommendations to Council and is hosting two virtual roundtables on Wednesday, December 9.

These roundtables are an opportunity for residents of Saugeen Shores to share their experiences with housing in the area. The task force is looking to hear more information on the following:

· Your current living situation

· The type of housing you are looking for

· How would change in housing change your life?

· Have you struggled to find affordable rentals in Saugeen Shores?

· What obstacles have you faced in the process of purchasing your first home?

· Were you forced to move out of Saugeen Shores as a result of the rise in rental and home prices?

“It is important that we fully understand the needs of residents in the community,” said Mike Myatt, Chair of the Attainable Housing Task Force. “Feedback from residents is the final step in our process and it is critical for decision making.”

The two round tables will be held on December 9. The first will be held from 1:30pm to 2:30pm and the second will be in the evening from 7pm to 8pm.

Those interested in participating or listening are encouraged to register with Jay Pausner via email at jay.pausner@saugeenshores.ca.
