The municipalities of Saugeen Shores, Kincardine and Arran Elderslie have partnered with Bruce Telecom to offer free WiFi at various outdoor locations for the 2020/21 school year.
“We recognize the importance of online learning during the pandemic, as well as being outdoors when possible,” said Tom Sullivan, CEO at Bruce Telecom in a September 17 media release. “We also know more people are still working remotely. We want to do our part by helping students, teachers and families stay connected. We are pleased to partner with our communities to make Outdoor Learning Centres available to those taking online courses, home schooling and working from home,” Sullivan said.
The free WiFi will be available between 7am and 9pm, seven days a week, until June 30, 2021 at the following locations.
Available immediately in Saugeen Shores, an Outdoor Learning Centre will be available at Coulter Parkette, 583 Green Street, Port Elgin and in Kincardine at Victoria Park, 310 Durham Market Street North.
Beginning mid October and through to June 30, 2021, two additional sites will be available, Jubilee Park, 50 Victoria Street South in Southampton and the Chesley Kinsmen Pavilion, 129 4th Avenue Southeast in Chesley.
