“The MIC provides a unique opportunity to seek out shared solutions to common challenges. We are well positioned to think carefully about the changes that our region is experiencing and be proactive in maximizing the opportunities afforded to us,” said Dave Shorey, Innovation Officer. “I am so looking forward to serving the communities that I care deeply about as the Innovation Officer."

With family roots in Southampton, Shorey and his family are looking forward to returning to Bruce County. Shorey is projected to start August 10, 2020.

The Innovation Officer is a collectively funded contract role to support the Municipal Innovation Council. With support of the Nuclear Innovation Institute, the MIC has identified transportation, climate change, e-services and waste management as their top four priority areas.
