covid 19 3

While physical distancing measures and social gathering bans remain in effect, the Town of Saugeen Shores will begin to see changes to outdoor amenities beginning this week.

In a May 21 media release, as of 9:00 am on Friday, May 22, green spaces in parks will open for public use; however, park amenities such as playground structures remain closed. The Off-Leash Dog Park and Skate Park will reopen and fishing from municipal property will now be allowed.

As these amenities reopen, physical distancing remains crucial to preventing the spread of the virus. All users must remain at least two metres away from those outside their immediate family. As well, social gatherings of more than five people are still prohibited by the province.

“Thank you to all permanent and seasonal residents who have complied with the provincial orders and public health advice to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau. “We are achieving success in fighting this pandemic because of everyone’s collective effort. Let’s keep up the fight so we can all hope to enjoy our community’s wonderful amenities this summer.”

• Green spaces and pavilions in all parks
