Some additional seating has been added to the Saugeen District Senior School (SDSS) Playscape Beautification and Enhancement project, courtesy of the Southport Horticultural Society. The students were polled and more seating was one of the items they had requested, said Student Community Council member and project leader Karen Fehr.

"Their generosity and commitment to our community, and specifically the [Playscape project], are truly appreciated," said Fehr.

Southport Horticultural Society President Sandra Carter said that providing a table for students to use would be a great first step in enhancing the space, adding that their next step will be for visual and environmental improvements in the form of plants and trees.

"We look forward to being able to play a further role in this project." Carter said that community contributions are possible through continued support from membership as well as county support and community fundraisers.
