thank you from hospital staff

Staff at the Southampton Hospital have put together a photo collage as their way of saying "Thank you" to everyone in the community who helped bring them much needed scrub caps.

Brenda Legris-Gainfort, a sewer and quilter from Guelph who makes caps, masks and gowns in Guelph and whose daughter, Nicole Swanson, is a Registered Nurse at the Southampton Hospital, put a call out to the local quilting guild, the Southampton Hospital Auxiliary and Hospital Chaplain Dar Rath, the efforts resulting in over 220 (and counting) scrub caps.

"More are still being made," said Swanson in a message to Saugeen Shores Hub. "Everyone has been so generous," she added. Swanson gathered and put together the individual photographs that made up the collage.

Nurses from the floor, the ER, Lab, X-Ray, office staff and a doctor all participated in the collage, Swanson explained. "We wanted to thank everyone in the community who has made or donated materials to help make the caps," said Swanson, adding that they also wanted to thank Rath and Legris-Gainfort for organizing the donations.

The artistic message, bookended by two drawn hearts, reads, "Thank you to everyone who made and supplied material for caps! The staff at the Southampton Hospital greatly appreciate it!"
