August 23 to 25 marked the Saugeen Shores Ball Weekend and not only was the adrenaline running high, so too were the purple socks as over 600 players sported them to help in the fight to find a cure for Cystinosis.

For every pair sold, $10 was donated to the Liv-A-Little Foundation and on August 25 a total of $6,100 was presented to Erin and Chad Little, co-founders of the Liv-A-Little Foundation from Slo-Pitch League Presidents Anne MacKay and Connor Yourth, as well as fundraiser organizer Kristan Shrider.

Over 40 teams from both the men's and women's leagues participated with hundreds of purple socks rounding the bases all weekend. Even the umpires jumped at the opportunity to add a bit of colour to their uniform while raising awareness of Cystinosis.
