A ribbon cutting ceremony at the Westlinks development May 29, located at the eastern edge of Port Elgin on Bruce County Road 17, marked the official opening of their model home, "The Wyatt", to the public. The Wyatt will begin opening on weekends and by appointment June 1.
The Westlinks front porch community by Rice Development, a family run company that has been involved in building, property management and retirement communities for over 40 years, will consist of 63 single family homes backing onto the 12 hole golf course and treed ravine area. It will also have up to 71 condo townhomes.
Phase one of the development, which includes 26 homes, has already sold out and now with the development having entered the second phase, six of the 16 condos have been sold.
Developer Rod Rice said that Westlinks and Rice Development were happy to be in Saugeen Shores. “It's a great community and a lot of people are saying the same thing right across the province,” he said. “We're trilled to have homeowners from Saugeen Shores who have moved into our homes here at Westlinks and we have people from the GTA who have moved here as well and I think they're absolutely going to love it," he added.
Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneau who cut the ribbon with Rice said that not only was Saugeen Shores a great community but added that it was also the fastest growing community in the region. “One of the reasons why it's such a great community, it's not said enough I don't think, is that we have great developers building in this community, building beautiful neighbourhoods like this,” said Charbonneau.
“I just want to say on behalf of the Town of Saugeen Shores that I think there's no builder who exemplifies that better than Rod and his team here at Westlinks," he said.
