BrucePower Bus Tour

Bruce Power’s 2019 Summer Bus Tour program gets rolling on Monday, June 3 and continues through August 31.

Bruce Power is once again ready to welcome thousands of visitors to its annual Summer Bus Tour program, which begins June 3 and runs through August 31.

In a Bruce Power media release, more than 5,000 visitors toured the Bruce Power site in the summer of 2018 and the company expects interest in the world's largest operating nuclear facility to be just as strong this summer. The tour begins at the Bruce Power Visitors’ Centre with a short film in a 100-seat, air-conditioned theatre. After a security check of each person’s government-issued photo ID (for individuals over the age of 18), visitors board a bus for a tour of the 2,300-acre site.

“Our Community and Indigenous Relations team once again have put together an informative and engaging program for our visitors," said James Scongack, Executive Vice-President, Corporate Affairs & Operational Services, adding that the program attracts residents and visitors alike.

For the month of June, Bruce Power will operate one daily narrated tour Monday to Friday, starting at 1 p.m. In July and August, there will be three daily tours, seven days a week starting at 11 a.m. and 1 and 2 p.m., with the exception of the statutory holidays on July 1 and August 5.

Pre-registration is strongly recommended as space is limited. Participants will be able to reserve up to 10 spaces for friends and family members. Required information for each visitor includes full name, home address and postal code. Visitors over the age of 18 require government-issued photo identification, while those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who can vouch for their identity.
