In a report to Saugeen Shores Council March 11, Mayor Luke Charbonneau expressed his excitement towards the Foundational Hydrogen Infrastructure Project, a project initiated by the Ontario Nuclear Innovation Institute. He reminded council of the profound potential of the medical isotopes in the sterilization of medical equipment.
Mayor Charbonneau proudly reported “400 billion syringes worldwide are sterilized [each year] by those medical isotopes of which of about 40 percent of those isotopes are produced at Bruce Power.”
In his report he said, “As we make progress on this initiative, it is increasingly clear that Bruce County is uniquely positioned to become the hydrogen capital of Canada.”
