Pride Saugeen Shores is gearing up for 2019 and is on the hunt for volunteers.

"We had an incredibly successful event last year and are hoping to build on that success in 2019," said event coordinator Lindsay Darling.

She expanded to say that in the short term she is hoping for a diverse group of creative individuals that can meet monthly to "create an even better, more accessible event for the community that will sustain itself for years to come." She added that in the long term, "I would love to have someone take the lead to address some of the broader issues within our LGBTQ+ community."

Saugeen Shores Mayor and Pride supporter and volunteer Luke Charbonneau said he was very excited to see work getting underway for Pride 2019. "Last year’s event was a great success for our community and I know that this year’s event will be even better," he said.

"I would encourage folks to contact [Lindsay] and sign up to help; by committing a small amount of time to this event volunteers will make a huge difference in our community," added Charbonneau.

Anyone interested in helping out can contact Lindsay by email at pridesaugeenshores@gmail.com.
