The local the Salvation Army Food Bank received a welcome donation of food and cash January 15 from Sutton-Huron Shores Realty Inc. Brokerage in Port Elgin.

The real estate office held a new year's event for their clients at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 340 in Port Elgin January 11 and guests were asked to bring donations for the food bank.

While handing over several bags of non-perishable food items as well as a cheque for $370 to Major Connie Armstrong of The Salvation Army Community and Family Service office, Sutton Realty team members said they were “honoured” to make the donation on behalf of their clients.

Major Armstrong said she was extremely thankful for the donation. “The people in this community are very generous,” she said.
