On Friday, January 11 at 5:45 a.m. an Saugeen Shores police officer spotted a vehicle being driven in a suspicious manner on Railway Street in Southampton. The officer stopped the vehicle and made observations of drug possession.

In a Saugeen Shores Police Service media release, an at scene investigation revealed that the driver and female passenger were in possession of 28 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $3200. The plates attached to the vehicle were discovered to have been stolen from the Town of Hanover.

The driver and passenger were both arrested and held for a bail hearing in Walkerton.

A 25 year old male and a 24 year old female, both from Hanover, have been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. The woman was also charged with breach of probation.
