A public information evening on a potential partnership between YMCA and the Town of Saugeen Shores is planned for Wednesday, November 28 at 7pm in Rotary Hall at the Plex, 600 Tomlinson Drive, Port Elgin.
This is an opportunity for the public to learn about how the YMCA operates, and the variety of roles the organization plays within the communities it serves.
The evening will include a presentation from Jayne Jagelewski, Director of Community Services for the Town of Saugeen Shores and Gayle Graham, Chief Executive Officer of the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce. Staff will also share an update on the Market Study currently underway in Saugeen Shores and the Memorandum of Understanding between the Town and the YMCA.
Following the presentation, the public will have an opportunity to ask questions.
The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce provides services across Bruce and Grey counties through health, fitness and aquatics, child care, camps, community initiatives and employment services.
A free Saugeen Shores Day at the Y is planned for Sunday, January 27 from 11:30am to 5pm where Saugeen Shores residents will have the opportunity to experience the YMCA Health, Fitness and Aquatics Centre in Owen Sound. More details will be announced on this event in the near future.
