The Power Workers' Union (PWU) Bruce Site Equity Committee recently donated $5,800 to Caitlyn Cobean's Community Crusaders (CCCC), an affiliate of the Tara "Boom" Houston Children's Foundation (TBHCF) which is dedicated to raising funds to help improve the lives of families whose children have been diagnosed with life threatening illnesses. All money raised by Caitlyn Cobean's Community Crusaders goes directly to TBHCF to help families in Southwestern Ontario including Grey and Bruce counties.

In a CCCC submission, Cailtyn Cobean's Community Crusaders (CCCC) was founded by family and friends of Caitlyn Cobean, a Port Elgin teen who lost her battle with cancer in August 2008. In her memory, Caitlyn's family and friends together with TBHCF are touching some very special lives.

"The Power Workers' Union is pleased to be able to assist CCCC in their efforts to take some of the financial stressors off families in our area as they deal with difficult family situations," said Linda Crombeen, Chief Steward from the PWU. The Bruce Site Equity Committee has been in place since early 2006 with a purpose to make cash disbursements of PWU Bruce equity funds to community organizations and local causes. The committee makes the donations on behalf of the more than 2,600 PWU members who work for Bruce Power.
