Ann Veyvara-Divinski (left) welcomes Ann Marie Johnston to her new position as Operations Manager and Volunteer Coordinator at PRANCE August 23. Veyvara-Divinski has held the position for five years and is retiring August 24.

Pegasus Riding Association Nurturing Challenged Equestrians (PRANCE) has a new Operations Manager and Volunteer Co-ordinator. In an August 23 media release, former volunteer Ann Marie Johnston has accepted the position following the retirement of Ann Veyvara-Divinski, who has been at the helm for the past five years.

"My time at PRANCE has been incredibly rewarding and totally amazing," said Veyvara-Divinski August 23. "I've met an incredible group of people that have really enlightened me and enlivened me, I've learned so much, it's been a phenomenal time and I know I'm leaving it in good hands," she said.

Veyvara-Divinski said that while it's time to move on, she is going to miss it. "I'm going to miss the horses, I'm going to miss the people," she said, adding that she hopes to stay in touch with PRANCE. While she is pleased with how the organization has grown over the last five years, Veyvara-Divinski said it's time for someone to take it to the next level.

Johnston is a Southampton resident and is looking forward to the challenge at PRANCE. Her previous career as a federal consultant with the Department of Indigenous Affairs provides skills she will use at PRANCE.

“We will miss our retiring Operations Manager and thank her for her years of hard work, dedication and service," said Board of Directors Chair Louise Martin. "We also look forward to what the future brings for PRANCE with our new Operations Manager, Ann Marie," she said.

Johnston started at her new post on Monday, August 20 and Veyvara-Divinski’s last day will be Friday, August 24.
