A motor vehicle collision southwest of Chatsworth has claimed the life of a Port Elgin man.
On July 2 at approximately 5:15 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Grey Road 3 and Grey Road 40 in the Township of Chatsworth.
In a Grey County OPP media release, investigation revealed that a Ford vehicle travelling east bound on Grey Road 40 towards Grey Road 3 failed to stop at the posted stop sign resulting in a collision with a Mercedes vehicle travelling south bound on Grey Road 3.
The lone driver of the Ford, 36 year old Robert Bradley Hillis, of Port Elgin, was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased by the attending physician. A post mortem examination is scheduled for July 3 in Owen Sound.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 68 year old male and a 66 year old female passenger, both from Etobicoke, were transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Grey Bruce Paramedic Services (EMS), Bruce County Paramedics, the Chatsworth Fire Department, and South Bruce OPP assisted at the scene.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) continue to investigate the collision.
