During the evening of June 28, Saugeen Shores Police responded to a call at The Station located at the Port Elgin Main Beach that a concrete archway over the entrance to its adjacent courtyard had collapsed.

Saugeen Shores Police Chief Mike Bellai said June 29 that after inspection of the site the collapse didn’t appear to be caused be vandalism.

No one was injured.

Town officials said the location of the collapse is currently barricaded. Members of the public are advised to avoid the area. Owners of the Station have been contacted to take appropriate action to ensure the entire site is safe.
