In a Hamilton Police Service media release, the victim and Port Elgin man originally met online in 2012. Between 2014 and 2018 the male sent over one hundred text messages to the victim. He used an alias and hid behind his computer, continually harassing the female. As time went on he further extorted the victim by threatening to send her private and personal information to her family for his own personal gain.

On Friday, June 1, 2018, Hamilton Police detectives with the assistance of the Saugeen Shores Police arrested George Condy 46 years old, of Port Elgin.

Condy has been charged with Criminal Harassment and Extortion and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, June 22, to answer to the charges.

Police believe there are more victims who have been harassed by this man but have yet to come forward. If you are a victim or have any further information please call Detective Chambers or Detective Constable Mendes at (905) 546-3817.
