Beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 27 and wrapping up on Saturday, April 28 at 7 p.m., 12 local youth took part in a 30 Hour Famine in support of World Vision, a global relief, development and advocacy organization that partners with children, families and communities to tackle the causes of poverty and injustice.
An annual event for the group, the Port Elgin United Church Youth Group raised $4,400 this year with a theme of “Outer Space”. Youth leaders created activities to keep the group busy and keep their mind off their hunger.
