The Saugeen Shores Police Services Board and the Saugeen Shores Police Association are pleased to announce that a tentative agreement has been reached between the parties on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement.

In a Board media release, the previous Collective Bargaining Agreement expired on December 31, 2017 and representatives of the Board and the Association have been working to negotiate a new agreement since February 2018.

The new, two year agreement includes wage increases for police officers that closely reflect the rate of inflation along with modest improvements to benefit coverage that are offset by changes to the promotional process and enhancements to management rights.

“Both the Board and the Association are pleased to have reached a tentative agreement, through positive and productive dialogue,” said Luke Charbonneau, Chair of the Police Services Board.

The matter will be put to the Membership of the Association as well as to the Police Services Board for ratification later in May.
