Volunteers are an essential part of any community. They contribute time and talent, and are a valued resource to the groups and communities they serve. In a Town of Saugeen Shores media release, the Town is proud to host a Volunteer Fair, now in its second year, to connect those looking for volunteer opportunities with local community groups and organizations.

The free event will take at the Plex, 600 Tomlinson Drive in Port Elgin, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2. Groups, events, and clubs are invited to participate at no cost, and are asked to register before April 30.

“Following the success and feedback we received from last year’s event, we are delighted to offer the event again,” said Lisa Billing, Recreation Supervisor with the Town of Saugeen Shores. “There are individuals out there looking to get involved and unsure where to begin. There are also many groups, events and service clubs seeking new volunteers who just can’t seem to reach the right people. The Volunteer Fair brings everyone together under one roof.”

Representatives from organizations will be available to answer questions and the public is invited to come and go throughout the evening.
