The Town of Saugeen Shores is pleased to host the first ever Glow Rider Family Bike Night, with some new additions to this fun schedule of events thanks to their community partners!
This FREE Glow Rider family event will be held on Saturday, October 7 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. where kids and families are invited to decorate their bikes and themselves with anything that glows and experience the excitement of cycling through Nodwell Park at dusk surrounded by music and glow lights. Events open at Nodwell Park with the Southampton Rotary barbeque dinner and fun activities including the Saugeen Shores Police hosting a mini Bike Rodeo, checking out the cool and unique bike collection that Martin’s Bicycle Shop will be showcasing and having Martin's Bicycle Shop available to tune up bikes and complete any last minute minor repairs. While on the safety front, the Grey Bruce Health Unit will be present to offer bike safety tips and proper helmet fit checks. And don’t miss out on stopping by the Decoration Station manned by the Liv-A-Little Foundation to add a little more razzle dazzle to your already glowing bike for your cycling adventure.
Special Candy Floss treats will be provided by the Saugeen Shores Kin Club and Boston Pizza’s very own Lionel will be on site cheering on the participants.
Prizes will be awarded for the Best Decorated Glow Riders, with categories for best child, family and teen/adults, with the prizes donated by 98 the Beach, Martin's Bicycle Shop and Boston Pizza.
Please note that all riders participating in the Glow Ride must wear a helmet and have a front bike light and rear flasher.
In case of inclement weather we will reschedule this event for Friday October 13. For more information please visit saugeenshores.ca/glowride.
