Following last year’s successful campaign, Bottles for Boobies is at it again collecting empty alcoholic containers at the Port Elgin Beer Store on June 24 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

From their Bottles for Boobies efforts in 2016, the team of ladies raised $900 towards the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation with the Foundation raising over $5,000,000 over the past 18 years through their annual Snow Run and other events to help breast cancer patients across Canada.

All money raised goes toward paying for things not covered by OHIP or benefits such as wigs, prosthetics, travel and accommodation costs, medication and child care.

Co-organizer Amy Gregorio said that anyone who donates their empties or makes a cash donation on June 24 will be entered into a draw to win a $50 LCBO gift card. “The community support was awesome,” said Gregorio of last year’s event while also recognizing the Beer Store staff for being “amazing” and “kind enough to let us come back this year,” said Gregorio.
