Every cent from every cup of coffee sold on Camp Day, May 31, at participating Tim Hortons across Canada will go directly to the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation’s camp program. Saugeen Shores Tim Hortons locations put great effort into the day, from in-store fundraising to organizing community volunteers to help spread the word.
Money raised on Camp Day through coffee purchases and in-store fundraising efforts will give approximately 19,000 children from low-income families across Canada the opportunity for a summer camp experience.
Saugeen Shores Camp Day coordinator, Mary Halbert, who works at the Southampton location, said that the stores expanded their activities and that through in-store fundraising from wheel spins and book sales, to dart activities will go towards the camp program. “It’s a great day,” said Halbert, adding that it was the “best day ever” for Camp Day, after herself and fellow employee Jamie Kuhl release balloons with Tim Hortons gift certificates attached to commemorate the day.

At the downtown Port Elgin location Levi Klie (left) and Danny Gregg were fundraising for the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation’s camp program. Kylie ran a balloon busting game while Gregg sold cowboy hats, camp bracelets and t-shirts to support the day.
