With Spring in full swing the Port Elgin BIA gearing up for the upcoming Port Elgin Farmer’s Market season in Coulter Parkette, at the corner of Green and Goderich streets in downtown Port Elgin.

The popular Summer market, which continues to grow each year, is now in its sixth season and will run every Wednesday from June 7 to September 6.

The Port Elgin BIA is currently looking for vendors for the upcoming season. Laura McInnes, Port Elgin BIA Coordinator, said that last year the market had over 30 regular seasonal vendors with approximately 15 other daily vendors. “This year we're hoping to have 40 seasonal vendors,” said McInnes.

Vendor categories include: Farm Fresh, Prepared Food, Eat-on-Site Food and Artisan with McInnes adding that they would like to see more vendors in the Farm Fresh category this year.

Vendors can sign up for a fee of $185 for the season for a single spot or $320 for a double or by the day for $25. Electricity is available at $25 for the season or $5 for the day.
