The Saugeen Shores Landfill now has seasonal hours in effect. From April 1 until October 31, the landfill will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. as well as Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In a April 3 media release, Town staff also reminds residents and visitors to ensure they secure their load when travelling to the landfill.

“It’s recommended to use a tarp to secure the load. This prevents debris from littering the roadways or potentially hitting other motorists,” said Dar Noble, Public Works Office Administrator with the Town of Saugeen Shores.

Hazardous waste days have also been announced in Saugeen Shores. Household hazardous waste will be collected at the Southampton Works Yard, 429 Peel Street in Southampton.

2017 Hazardous Waste Days:
May 6, 2017 – 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
August 12, 2017 – 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
October 21, 2017 – 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
