The 21st Annual Jeff Preston Celebrity Golf Tournament at Saugeen Golf Club raised $25,000 during the tournament and auction July 15. A matching donation of $25,000 from Jesse’s Journey, a Muscular Dystrophy research charity brought the total to $50,000 which will be donated to Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada, Southwestern Ontario Region.

Organized by the Port Elgin Rotary Club, the tournament saw 33 celebrities play with 165 golfers. Some celebrities included: Jeff Virgo, Kevin Czuczman, Brett MacLean, Jim Sanlak, Ben Lobb, Brian Longmire, Jeff Smith and Mayor Mike Smith.

Rotarian Kevin Carter said that the main winner during the annual golf tournament is Muscular Dystrophy. Over the 21 years of the tournament over $1,346,000 has been raised.

“The day was smooth and was well organized. All the golfers seemed to have fun. We had a lively auction, some great items and we’re just really grateful that people supported it as well as they did,” said Carter following the tournament.
