Due to high winds on July 1, the Canada Day fireworks in Southampton were cancelled. As a result the celebrations have been extended for a second day.

Fireworks will take place Saturday, July 2 at dusk. Millard Boulevard will be closed at 5 p.m. for the safety of those in attendance.

In a release, Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce said that although the full ceremony won’t be repeated, there will be a few returning in the evening to the big flag.

Those expected to return around 7:30 p.m. to the big flag:

· the Cham-bettes are returning with their popcorn
· The Main Event will return with her face painting
· The 50/50 draw will be set up with the draw taking place just before the fireworks
· Glow products will be available for sale

The Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers to help with this second day of celebrations.
