It was a joint effort between Norm's Fast Lube and Auto Detailing and Krown Rust Control and Colorworks Express Auto Body on Highway 21 in Port Elgin during their Father’s Day weekend Charity Car Wash, June 18.
With music, a barbecue and stock cars on display, there was more than just volunteers at-the-ready to wash the vehicles for the many car owners who came to support two great causes.
Co-owner of Krown and Colorworks, Sandra Carter, said that every year Krown supports the Children’s Wish Foundation; while neighbour and owner of Norm’s Fast Lube, Norm Smits, wanted to get involved and share the proceeds with local non-profit Liv-A-Little Foundation so the two businesses joined forces.

“The generosity of people in the community, the donations we’ve received so far from each individual car that has come through is overwhelming. This community is very generous,” said Carter during the Car Wash, June 18.
At the time of publishing, the total amount raised had not yet been released.
