Saugeen Shores is gearing up for another municipal election and with four acclaimed candidates and 10 more candidates vying for the five remaining seats, voters have a some things to consider.
Saugeen Shores' current Mayor, Luke Charbonneau, has been acclaimed to the mayor's seat for another term.
Current Deputy Mayor Don Matheson is seeking re-election with current Saugeen Councillor Matt Carr and former Councillor and Vice-Deputy Mayor Diane Huber also seeking the deputy mayor's seat.
Current Vice-Deputy Mayor Mike Myatt has been acclaimed to the position for another term.
With two seats up for grabs, current Councillor Dianne Mini Jacques is looking to continue representing the Port Elgin Ward with Bud Halpin, Katie Rice and Rachel Stack also seeking election.
Current Councillor Dave Myette and candidates Justin Duhaime and Kimberley Inniss-Petersen are each vying for one of the two seats to represent the Saugeen Ward.
Current Southampton Ward Councillors, John Divinski and Cheryl Grace are both acclaimed for another term.
Both the Bluewater District School Board (BWDSB) and the Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board (BGCDSB) Trustee positions have two candidates running for the upcoming term.
Incumbent BWDSB Trustee for Saugeen Shores and Arran Elderslie, Katie Lutz, is looking for re-election with Yvonne Cameron vying for the same spot.
For the BGCDSB, Lucie Desbiens and Jeannette Lee are looking for election in the municipalities of Saugeen Shores, Arran Elderslie, Chatsworth, Georgian Bluffs, Northern Bruce Peninsula and South Bruce Peninsula.

An All Candidates Meeting will be held at the Plex in Port Elgin, 600 Tomlinson Drive, on Thursday, October 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. The meeting is sponsored by The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Southport and questions for the candidates can be sent to cfuwsp@gmail.com.
The Saugeen Shores Municipal Election will be held from Monday, October 17 at 8:30 a.m. to Monday, October 24 at 8 p.m. Eligible residents will be able to cast their vote via telephone or computer.
