The search for Armstrong continues

armstrong 4 fullSaugeen Shores Police, with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Toronto Police and area services continue to search for missing man, Peter James “Jim” Armstrong.

OPP and Saugeen Shores Police have concluded a thorough 1.5 kilometer radius search around the home on Saugeen Street, Southampton where he was last seen March 9, that included assistance from Emergency Response Team (ERT) officers on the ground, canine, helicopter, unmanned aerial vehicle, dive boats with side scan sonar and divers.

Officers, assisted by Saugeen Shores Police’s Auxiliary Unit, continue to conduct walks of the sides of the river and the shoreline morning and evening each day.

Police have followed up on all leads and investigative avenues but have not located Armstrong. Early information received that he may have boarded a bus in Port Elgin and got off in Walkerton was investigated and the person thought to be Armstrong has been spoken to and identified.
