Saugeen Shores students making a statement in pink

Students in Saugeen Shores were tickled pink February 24 to commemorate Pink Shirt Day, where citizens are encouraged to wear the colour to advocate against bullying.

Pink Shirt Day began in 2007, in Nova Scotia, after a male teenager was bullied for wearing the colour pink. In response, his friends wore the colour to support his choice and to stand-up to bullies and the movement continues to grow each year, and gain traction on social media.

Pink Shirt Day is a great reminder for students to foster a positive environment where bullies cannot thrive, and to send a message that kindness and compassion for each is a choice that everyone has the ability to make.St.Joespink girlsecole
