On February 19, Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson was on hand at the Lucknow Sports Complex to present each of Huron-Bruce’s eight hospital foundations with donations of $5,000 from the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC), represented by Doug DeRabbie. Among them Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF).
“Huron-Bruce’s hospital foundations are largely responsible for the fundraising efforts that allow hospitals to do the work that ensures patients have access to the best possible care when in hospital,” said Thompson.
“I am pleased to see their good work recognized with these generous donations, and look forward to the benefits it will bring to our local communities.”
Huron-Bruce’s hospital foundations are responsible for raising the funds that make the purchasing of equipment, facility maintenance and assistance to staff with training and development possible.
“IBC and its members have a long and proud history of working locally to make a difference,” said Doug DeRabbie, Director, Government Relations, Ontario IBC.
“We hope that these donations will help provide health care services to residents in Huron-Bruce.”
