GBHUFULLThe Grey Bruce Health Unit is seeking assistance from the public in finding the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident that occurred in Port Elgin.

On Wednesday, December 30, at approximately 9:00 p.m., a man was walking on Brentwood Drive in Port Elgin when he was bitten by a dog which is described as a black bulldog. The dog appeared to be running loose. The incident occurred as he tried to separate the dog from his own.

Staff of the Grey Bruce Health Unit need to confirm the dog is not infectious with rabies. By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
