Bruce County Public Library (BCPL) will launch its 2026 TD Summer Reading Club on June 27, with programming planned at branches across the county.
This year’s club will focus on the theme of water, with eight weeks of programs, activities and special events for children and families.
A kick-off event is scheduled for the Sauble Beach branch from 10am to 3pm on June 27. The event will include a performance by The Amazing Andy, live music from folk duo Panzerotti and Sunshine, an author reading with Elly MacKay and a foam pit party. All-day activities are also expected to include face painting, Cricut crafts, interactive activities and community booths.
Registration for the Summer Reading Club opens June 27 at all 17 BCPL branches. Families who do not attend the Sauble Beach launch can register at their local branch, where 'Get Your Summer Read On!' programs will also be offered.
Participants will be able to track their reading through the Beanstack app or by using a paper log available at local branches. Children can earn ribbons and prizes by recording reading time and taking part in activities.
The program runs until August 21 with weekly themed programs and special events being offered throughout the summer at library branches. Brochures with themes, dates and times are available at branches and through the library website.
