Palestine Solidarity Grey Bruce (PSGB) is hosting a screening of the Oscar-nominated 'The Voice of Hind Rajab' On May 12 at 7pm. doors open at 6:30pm at the OSCVI Community Auditorium at East Ridge Community School, 1550 8th Street East in Owen Sound.

The film has been creating a buzz since its release in March of this year and is based on the real emergency call recordings from January 29, 2024, when a five-year-old girl in Gaza, Hind Rajab, was trapped in a car under fire while Red Crescent responders tried to reach her. 

"It offers a focused and deeply sobering look at the realities facing civilians in conflict zones," a recent release from PSGB said.

The evening is set to include a brief talk by Dr Yipeng Ge, a resident physician at the University of Ottawa and public health advocate who spent time in Gaza supporting medical efforts.

Dr Ge remains active in international solidarity initiatives, including coordinating with healthcare workers in the region and is expected to provide important context on the healthcare conditions underlying the film.

Attendance to the May 12 screening is $10 or pay-what-you-can with all proceeds going to Safe 'N Sound in Owen Sound.
