The Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board (BGCDSB) has announced that Bruce Power has donated $5,000 in support of their Employing Individuals through Equity and Inclusion (Ei2) program.
"This initiative empowers students with diverse learning needs by providing hands-on entrepreneurial experiences that build essential workplace skills," read a March 26 media release from BGCDSB.
The Ei2 program is part of BGCDSB’s Limitless Ventures initiative and offers students opportunities to gain valuable business and employment skills by developing, marketing and selling products. The program aims to enhance students' independence, providing them with opportunities to acquire industry-recognized certifications, and engage with local employers in hopes of fostering an inclusive workforce.
Lisa Bilodeau, BGCDSB's Superintendent of Education said that the contribution from Bruce Power will directly benefit students by expanding opportunities for skill development and real-world business experiences.
The investment will provide the program with more materials, resources, and opportunities for students to build entrepreneurial skills and develop their own businesses before they graduate; as well as ensuring students can continue to grow their business post graduation by providing access to mentorship, resources and support through the BGCDSB business hub.
