Following a weekend of two new cases of COVID-19 per day, five new cases were reported between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:30 p.m. Monday in Grey Bruce.
In a situation report from the Grey Bruce Health Unit (GBHU), a woman in her 20s and a woman in her 30s are both self isolating, a man in his 60s is self isolating, a woman in her 90s is said to be isolated and a woman in her 50s has been hospitalized.
This brings the cumulative total to 26 with nine cases reported as recovered and seven cases reported among health care providers in Grey Bruce.
One facility is reported in a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility and the average estimated time for test results now sits at two to three days.
In an April 6 media release, GBHU reassured the public that all COVID-19 cases now identified to Public Health are in compliance with the requirement to isolate until recovery. "We contact these individuals on a daily basis for monitoring," read the release.
Where any reliability issues exist relating to the requirement to provide truthful information to health care providers, and in turn doubts about potential non-compliance, public health is working with local enforcement agencies to ensure compliance.
"We require individuals to honestly and reliably provide accurate information about their symptoms to reduce the potential spread of the COVID-19 virus," read the release, adding that doing the right thing will help ensure everyone’s safety during this pandemic.
Providing false, inaccurate, or incomplete information will result in more rigorous Public Health measures, which may include Orders under the Health Protection and Promotion Act and subsequent penalties for non-compliance.
On April 5, two new cases were reported in Grey Bruce, two new cases on April 4 and two new cases April 3. One new case was reported April 2.
