Grey Bruce Health Unit reminds international travellers to self-isolate for 14 days

self isolate

The Grey Bruce Health Unit (GBHU) urgently reminds all international travellers of the requirement to self-isolate for 14 days, beginning upon the first day of their return to Canada.

In a March 22 media release, self-isolation applies to all persons returning from international travel, whether or not they are showing any symptoms of COVID-19 virus.

Self-isolation means staying at home and avoiding contact with other people to help prevent the potential spread of disease to others in your community.

Self-isolation means to:
· stay at home
· monitor yourself for symptoms, even if mild, for 14 days
· avoid contact with others

If you develop symptoms, even if mild, stay home, avoid other people. Take the Health Canada or Ontario Ministry of Health online self-assessment and take any action as advised from the results of that assessment.

GBHU continues to encourage people to connect with trusted sources for information, including publichealthgreybruce.on.ca/COVID-19.
