With a busy month ahead of them the Southampton Royal Canadian Legion Branch #155 donated $1,500 to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) towards a new MRI for Grey Bruce Health Services and the Owen Sound Hospital.
On behalf of the Foundation, Past Chair Jonna Ebel said that they were quite excited about the up-swelling of support from the community. "As you know, the current MRI is aging and in order to continue to provide proven, safe and technologically current diagnosis, a new MRI is a must," she said, adding that the Foundation was honoured that the Southampton Legion considered the donation in the midst of their Remembrance Day preparations.
With November 11 less than two weeks away the Southampton Legion has planned many events to coincide with the 100 year anniversary of the signing of the Armistice. For more information on what the Legion has planned visit saugeenshoreshub.ca/news/4523-southampton-legion-remembrance-day.
