Bruce Power, its suppliers, community partners and local businesses raised $168,000 to support local health care at the annual Bruce Power Charity Golf Tournament August 10.

In a Bruce Power media release, the funds raised will be split between the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation and the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.

The annual fundraiser which, over the past 17 years, has generated over $2 million for local health care initiatives, was held at the Saugeen Golf Club. Proceeds from the tournament assist the foundations in purchasing life-saving equipment for the Kincardine and Southampton hospitals.

“We have great communities to live in,” said Mike Rencheck, Bruce Power’s President and CEO. “The local hospital foundations allow our hospitals to stay at the forefront of rural health care and Bruce Power and our partners feel a strong sense of community responsibility to support health care in the region. Our employees are proud of the role we play in supporting health care locally."
