“We’re ecstatic with the more than 75 individuals and an amazing total well over $13,000,” said local Alzheimer’s Society Event Coordinator Melanie Myers about the new walk in Southampton May 12.

Fairy Lake provided an idyllic and reflective setting. Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson attended the walk and shared a personal story with the participants.

Grey Bruce Alzheimer’s Special Events Coordinator Jen Legge echoed Melanie’s enthusiasm while explaining that a few years before the event was known as the Walk for Memories and was held indoors.

Myers and Legge thanked their local and corporate sponsors as well as the Investors Group for the national support.

Some participants formed teams of family and friends and were easily identified sporting their blue bandanas.
