Fitness Corner’s Holly Vanderzwet gave us a wave at the 12th annual Reindeer Romp December 24. The 2016 event raised over $1,000 for mental health initiatives.
The 13th annual Reindeer Romp, co-hosted by the Saugeen Track and Field Club and Fitness Corner, and in support of mental health, is once again happening on Christmas Eve morning.
Dress up in your best reindeer or seasonal outfit or come decked out in your favourite seasonal colours to Fitness Corner’s Port Elgin location at 9 a.m. Sunday, December 24 to walk, jog or run 2k, 5k or 10k.
This participation event is not a race and the cost is $10 for adults, $5.00 for students or $20 per family, with additional donations being gratefully accepted. Strollers and leashed pets are also welcome.
All proceeds for the 2017 Reindeer Romp will go to Bruce Shoreline, the local Grey-Bruce branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). In support of CMHA Grey Bruce’s mission statement, event organizers strive to work toward “a community which values human dignity and in which each person is supported in achieving optimum mental and emotional health and well-being.”
Funds raised will go directly to Bruce Shoreline in support of its mental health initiatives in Saugeen Shores such as the Social Recreation Program and the Community Kitchen.
Additional information can be found on the Facebook event page or by emailing farrell@bmts.com.
Tax receipts will be available for all those who register and provide email and mailing addresses.
