Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) is asking you to "pedal with purpose" this August in support of local healthcare in Saugeen Shores.
Gran Fondo Lake Huron raises funds to purchase vital medical equipment.
Over 49,000 people visit the ER in Southampton each year and 100% of rider-raised dollars will go directly to supporting healthcare initiatives.
Since 2018 Gran Fondo has raised $1.7M and have delivered life-saving equipment in Saugeen Shores such as crash carts, cardiac monitors, a CT scanner, and new mammography equipment. Less than 10% of funds needed for new diagnostic and medical equipment are provided by the government.
Rides for the 2025 Gran Fondo Lake Huron range from 10k to 110k in length and for the first time in 2025, a 50k ride will be added to the event.
Choose from 10k, 30k/181m elevation (with one rest stop), 50k/441m elevation (two rest stops), 75k/441m elevation (two rest stops) or 110k/654m elevation (three rest stops.
All above routes are paved and offer picturesque views.
An 80k gravel road route is also available with a 448m elevation gain and one rest stop. This route is 60% unpaved.
All rides will begin Saturday, August 16 with the first ride departing at 7am and the final route leaving at 9am.
A 1k kids ride will be held on Sunday, August 17 at 10am.

The weekend also includes a Saturday Night Street Party, sponsored by Three Sheets Brewing with live local music and proceeds going in support of SMHF. Set to get underway at 7pm and run until 11pm, the Street Party will be held at Coulter Parkette, the corner of Green and Goderich Streets.
