Dr. Margaret Large-Cardoso will celebrate a century on earth May 13 and the congregation of St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Southampton started her birthday week off on the right track, with cake and a celebration, May 8.

Reverend Carrie Irwin of St. Paul’s Anglican Church has served in the community for 15 months and knows that Margaret is an integral part.

“Margaret is one of our foundational stones. She's an incredible woman that brings so much to not only the parish but community, and so it was our joy to celebrate her 100th birthday in the midst of her church family, today,” said Irwin.

Following the Sunday Service, a cake was presented to Margaret who stated to the crowd that it was just like any other year. The quick witted 99-year-old joined the congregation for a birthday celebration brunch in St. Paul’s Community Hall.
